Mother’s Day and All Women

In ten days, it’s Mother’s Day. That means so much, without a mother, we wouldn’t be here. There’s Mother Earth first of all, then there’s the first mother ever, and each mother after, and so on and so on.

So that brings me to something new I’ve started doing, and I have to say, I couldn’t have more fun doing anything else! Recently I put together a group of girlfriends, we took an entire Saturday, no work, no kids, no carpools, husbands and boyfriends left on their own… and we played dress-up! I have to admit, I coaxed a few here with mimosa’s, yummy goodies, and pampering, but it very quickly became exactly what I hoped for… worry-free, all-about-us, how-hot-am-I fun!  After sitting in hair and make-up and catching up on gossip for a couple hours, then we started the real fun and we shifted from playing Princess to Supermodel!

I’ve always wanted to show each of my girlfriends how beautiful I think she is. I believe true beauty shines from the inside out. All each one of us needs is a little time to unwind, the beautiful artistry of great make-up, the perfect lighting, and a blower on the hair, to make us feel the confidence to let it shine through. Their individuality and natural best is the most stunning; all shapes, sizes, colors, ethnicities. It was so great to spend a day having fun with our best girlfriends! I’m dying to show them all the photos! (So bear with me, I’m dying to show you, too! When they’ve all seen it, I’ll be posting a short film!)  I think that will make the hubby forget she left him with the kids all day!

Then an odd thing occurred to me. These women are sisters, daughters, best friends, confidantes, girlfriends, wives, lovers, mothers. They are also executives, artists, achievers, athletes, advocates, special needs mothers, fighters, abuse survivors, divorce survivors, disaster survivors, cancer survivors, carpool-lane survivors, believers, champions and heroes, all in one room! They are caregivers, healers, cooks, and the matriarchs. They are modern everyday women; with the truest beauty coming from within.

These women are all of those to me, they are my friends. I have had strong women inspire me in my family and in life. And in any time of need, the women in my life have lifted me up. On Mother’s Day, I will celebrate my mother, my best friend. But I also choose to celebrate women, with all the beauty I see, just pure inner beauty.

So here’s a thought, celebrate with a little fun. Give yourselves a Girlfriends’ Model Day, hang out and dress up with your mom’s, your daughters, your sisters, your best girlfriends! It’ll be the best fun you’ve had in a long time! Call for package pricing and to book your Girlfriends’ Model Day soon.

Happy Mother’s Day everyone!

?”I believe in pink. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”
